Simple and Scrumptious - Herald Journal Article

Quick, Cheap 'n Yummy Spaghetti Sauce


1/2 pound ground beef
1 45-ounce can tomato juice
1 7-ounce can sliced mushrooms
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 to 2 cups potato flakes


Brown ground beef and drain. In a large saucepan, combine browned ground beef, tomato juice, mushrooms, onion salt, Italian seasoning and grated Parmesan cheese. Simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. SLOWLY add potato flakes, stirring until desired thickness is achieved. Do not add too many potato flakes, or you will have "tomatoed potatoes." Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles. Makes 12 servings.
