Wacky Cake with Cinnamon Sauce

Deep dark chocolate cake, dripping with smooth and creamy cinnamon sauce. Yummmm! It looks like chocolate frosting but oh, what a lovely surprise to taste the sweet cinnamon sauce. What a fabulous combination!

Thanks to the Bockholt Cousins from Orem, Utah we have this wonderful cake recipe to share!! Here's what they say...

For birthdays, we all gather together on a Sunday afternoon and have dinner and cake. Wacky cake has become really popular because it brings back memories our dads and uncles have of helping their mother make it. Now, we all get to make it with our grandma. Jay, Wes, Kyla, and Katryn, Lacy and Bryce, all crowd around the counter helping poke the holes in the cake mix to pour ingredients, so we can all claim, "I made this cake for you! Happy birthday!"

Why is this cake called Wacky Cake? I'll show you and then you decide!

Spray a square cake pan or dish with non-stick cooking spray. You don't even need a mixing bowl.

That's Wacky!

Add the dry ingredients. Mix them all up. Make 3 holes.

That's Wacky.

Put the vanilla in one hole, the vinegar in another hole and the oil in the 3rd hole.

That's Wacky.

Pour in the water and mix it all up.

Wacky.

Ready to put in the oven and bake.
In a saucepan, combine the sauce ingredients.

Cook and stir this until bubbly.

Pour it over the cake.

Yum! Time to eat it!

Krystal, I am sorry! I fixed the misspelling here. It's wrong in the cookbook, isn't it? I'm so sorry about that!
